FAQs
How do the glasses work?
The theory behind the glasses is that by programming them to blink on the non-dominant (weaker) eye, the light pulses to the brain stimulate the weaker side of the brain so that it is functioning at an elevated level. The side of dominance has an increase in vascular activity, with higher amounts of oxygen and nutrients delievered. Therefore, the side of non-dominance is being deprived of oxygen and nutrients, a probably cause of disease. Eyelights help to balance out both sides of the brain.
How do I determine my non-dominant (weaker) eye?
The easiest way to determine your non-dominant eye is to perform the "circle test"
1. Make a circle or “okay” sign with both hands by overlapping thumb and forefinger to make a circle.
2. Place circles on top of each other and extend arms fully.
3. Looking through the circle with both eyes open, focus on an object on the wall, putting it in the center of circle.
4. Close the left eye and note if object stayed in center of circle, or if object moved out of the circle.
5. Open left eye and then close right eye, noting again whether object stayed in center or moved.
6. Whichever eye is OPEN when the object moves out of the circle is your non-dominant eye. So, whichever eye is open when the object is in center of your circle is your dominant eye.
Who can use eyelights?
Practically anyone can wear Eyelights. Pro athletes, children with learning disabilities, and people suffering from neurological disorders are all wearing Eyelights.
How long do I wear eyelights?
The standard protocol calls for 5 minutes 2-3 times a day for beginners. Eventually you work your way up to 15-20 minutes 2-3 times a day. For athletes, the lights can be worn for longer periods of time if the glasses are programmed for physical activity. Those experiencing neurological problems (stroke, seizures, etc.) need to consult their doctor for the proper protocol.
Will I have to continue to wear Eyelights indefinitely?
While Eyelights do have a lasting effect from each wearing, in order for your brain to work at its maximum potential, Eyelights will have to be worn on a regular basis. Our environment is constantly causing our bodies to break down, whether from chemicals, water, air, lights, or foods. Eyelights are able to keep the brain stimulated, potentially warding off sensitivities, diseases, or injuries.
When do I wear Eyelights?
Eyelights can be worn during your normal daily routine or activity. They can be worn in the classroom, or while studying. They can be worn while working on a computer, during an aerobic workout, while vacuuming, or watching television.
What if I wear prescription glasses?
We recommend that you wear the Eyelights at a time when your prescription glasses are not needed, since the amount of time you are wearing your Eyelights is minimal.
Which setting do I choose?
If you want to increase your otor or sensory response, use the bottom row of lights blinking brighter.
If you want to improve mental, cognitive, or emotional response, use the upper row of lights blinking brighter.
